In Coloured Spaces, Beata Geyer, Francesca Mataraga, Alicia Poppett and Elisa Trifunoski present a series of spatial works that respond to the architecture of Articulate Project Space. Beata Geyer’s ‘Rose Mountain’ is a site-specific installation that explores the notion of colour and form in space, while Francesca Mataraga’s ‘fragments from pink and orange (installation for Articulate)’ utilizes the architectural space of the gallery as a canvas for three–dimensional painting. Alicia Poppett plays with the transformation of unlikely materials into a work that refers to and converses with the tradition of painting, and with ‘Support’, Elisa Trifunoski confronts the notion of the plinth and its existence in relation to painting and sculpture.
