FLORA AUSTRALIS: Australian Artists & the Floral Still Life

Depictions of flora have been present throughout human artistic practice and continue as a fascinating subject for contemporary artists practicing today.

Utilising the collection of works by some of Australia’s most well-known and respected artists at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, along with works especially created for the exhibition by a number of emerging contemporary artists, this exhibition presents historical and contemporary examinations of the humble flower.

Artists include: Tom Roberts, Margaret Preston, Katie Petyarre, Arthur Streeton, Margaret Olley, Laura Jones, Nicholas Harding, Rupert Bunny, Roy de Maistre, Tim Maguire, Lucy Culliton, Elioth Gruner, Alesandro Ljubicic, Hans Heyson, Zuza Zochowski, Ken Done, A.E. Aldis and
Julian Meagher.
