Melinda Schawel: Higher Ground

Mapping meta and micro environmental changes, Melinda Schawel’s turn of hand on paper dances with the materiality of her medium, upping the tempo with a sensitive application of colour. As she cuts, tears, scales and pokes her surfaces the artist is meditating on natural phenomena and what is man-made, specifically climate change. These new compositions on 640 gram weight paper express action and reaction and are a unique symbiosis of colour and form.
