Thomas Thorby-Lister, also known as Skulk, created the feature paintings of this exhibition during a residency in Berlin in 2015, and is exhibiting them for the first time in Sydney.
The pieces have inspired an exhibition of new works, concerned with abstracting Skulk’s signature style. The artist describes his work as a combination of personal graphic vocabulary of figures, objects and primitive shapes, with expressionistic mark-making and an abstract composition. This exhibition marks a change in direction and new artistic possibilities for the young artist’s progressive practice.
