‘Hatched: National Graduate Show’ hosted by Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA) is on view until 7 July 2019. In this 28th iteration of the showcase we find the work of 18 artists that demonstrate expansive forms of contemporary practice and share a desire to explore our emotional, psychological and social spaces, digging deep into how we intellectually (individually and collectively) construct these worlds and what their material traces are. In addition to the group exhibition several development opportunities have been awarded; Dennis Golding, a Kamilaroi/Gamilaraay artist will undertake a residency at PICA in partnership with the North Metropolitan TAFE, and Anita Cummins has won the $50,000 Schenberg Art Fellowship for her works feelings (2018) and I got out of bed today (2018).
