Marilyn Hutchinson and Steffie Wallace depict the billowing formations above in all their swift and ephemeral diversity.
With a limited palette, Wallace captures the natural, contrasting light of imposing skies. ‘My work reflects the unpredictability of nature with the emphasis on transitory experience, paralleling our own fleeting existence and the relativity of our significance within the natural environment,’ says the artist, ‘I love the challenge of painting storms, moonlight and dust storms.’
Hutchinson works in paint, mixed media, soft pastels and photography. In this exhibition, she connects to the diversity of clouds, their beauty, changing nature created and recreated, inciting a range of emotions, being spiritually uplifting and bringing a sense of hope.
