Chris De Rosa: Seaweeding

Seaweeding is a playful new art exhibition inspired by and drawing our attention to the beauty and intrigue of diverse sea-dwelling organisms.

South Australian artist Chris De Rosa has created a colourful and vibrant installation consisting of large-scale papier-mâché sculptures and screenprints, etchings and digital prints based on sea plants, algae and spongia – accompanied by a moving image work to highlight De Rosa’s influences and concerns. The video reimagines the collecting of historic specimens as part of the whole oceanic realm rather than as a single entity.
