The first retrospective exhibition of Peter Powditch who is recognised for his experimentation with air-brush spray painting. The artist favoured nudes, landscapes and beach culture, prioritising the experiential rather than theoretical – or being unabashed about being attracted to what is popular and sensual, like the female body. “The female figure, to me, carries the most accessible clarity of any format,” he explained. “I like the organic feel of the human body against the flatness of clothes. That’s why I started putting bikinis on my nudes: something flat on something round.”
