The Memory Palace: Cyrus Tang

This exhibition takes us on a journey through more than two decades of Cyrus Tang’s multidisciplinary experiments in preserving the residue and remnants of the past. The artist examines sentiments of nostalgia within memory and fantasy, fascinated by the paradox of reconstructing ephemeral mental images and sensations in permanent materials: clay, water, books, pianos, ash, and human hair.

Working across sculpture, photography, video, and installation, the artist has a distinctive style that embraces the materiality of her media, resulting in haunting and touching works that memorialise collective experiences.
