Fremantle Arts Centre presents a new body of work from Dia-Rong Lee from 8 June to 21 July 2019 as a result of the Asialink exchange between the Perth gallery and the Taipei Artists Village. This is the tenth collaboration of its kind, a unique opportunity for artists to enjoy cross-cultural and a new artistic context across the Asia-Pacific. Taiwanese artist Dia-Rong works mainly in ceramic sculpture, producing pieces that have been described as self-consciously sensual and fleshy, focused on the human body as a hybrid form. These new forms reflect on her experience of local materials and techniques as well as an aesthetic and cultural change.
Carriageworks will present a full day of performances and a series of curator and artist panels to celebrate the final weekend of 'The National: New Australian Art'.Read more
