Flossie Peitsch: A Difficult Dinner Party

Peitsch plays with the idea of ‘real art’ by linking physical canvases with digital technologies. Creating an exhibition in both physical and virtual spaces, she creates new communities and asks them to engage with traditionally big social topics.

Instead of drawing attention to how generations and cultures differ, this exhibition highlights aspects where societies align – the commonality of community, spirit, and communication facilitated by the Internet. The dinner party is difficult because it facilitates an unorthodox approach to sharing art as ‘food for thought’ while casually tossing aside century’s old discussion about religion, sex, and politics in art.
