This textile exhibition by Bábbarra Women’s Centre celebrates the creative journey undertaken by Maningrida women in mastering the mediums of design, lino-block, and screen-printing on cloth over the past thirty-seven years.
Manburrba is the first major survey exhibition of Bábbarra’s textile printmaking in the Northern Territory. Featuring more than eighty-five striking and colourful hand-printed textiles made by twenty-four artists, as well as limited edition prints-on-paper, sculptures, and basketry by three generations of textile artists, it reveals the depth and continued connection to Country within dynamic printed artworks.
