Michaela Swan: The Arm Knitting Project, 2016

‘The Arm Knitting Project’ has been an ongoing project since 2014, installed in a variety of spaces emphasising the versatility of its form. The project is initiated through process and materiality, and resolved through installation and occasionally live performance.

The installation implies associations to comfort through the use of torn, second-hand quilt covers, and the meditative process of knitting. The exaggeration of the process through scale and performance explores the metaphorical union of strangers, interlaced by means of knitting.
