Here is an exciting opportunity for budding curators: The National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA), sponsored by the Sidney Myer Fund, is offering emerging or mid-career curators the opportunity to be awarded one of four $15 000 grants as part of ‘The Curator Mentorship Initiative’. The Initiative is designed to allow young curators to develop their projects and bring them to fruition, through mentored placements within a gallery, art institution or university.
Successful applicants may direct the funds towards any area they decide will be of benefit to their proposal, whether that be to cover costs associated with exhibition, promotion or as a personal salary whilst researching or writing. Projects should be 3-12 months in duration, and preference will be given to projects taking place in Australia. Deadline for the grant is April 10, so get those entries in fast!
