‘Limits to Growth’ is a survey catalogue accompanying Australian artist Nicholas Mangan’s recent touring exhibition of the same name. Its pages are richly illustrated with four of Mangan’s most significant works of the past seven years, alongside a new commission. Together they tackle narratives from the Asia-Pacific region in which Australia plays a colonial role, revealing key issues of Anthropocene, the socio-political context of energy extraction and interesting remedies like CSIRO “researching the possibility of using termites to help look for gold… True story,” writes Mangan.
