Sweet Dreams & Gut Reactions is a metaphor for what is repetitive and unnerving in our personal and public rituals and interactions. Staged as a bedroom, with a playful hairy twist, this exhibition evokes a sense of disquiet and discomfort, for the physical body is absent and only the traces shed by the occupier remain. Among the curiosities is a hairy quilt covered bed; hairy slippers; a hair-coiled fringed lamp; hair-covered garments; objects constructed from photographs of human skin; and a mo-hair suit made from men’s facial hair.
