‘Macro/Micro’, the annual Open Studios group exhibition is designed to produce a cohesive and diverse range of artwork to showcase the creative energy and skill of each artist. Shown at Burrinja Gallery, the exhibition title and theme bring together the creative response as to how our tiny lives fall within the continuum of a wider existence; unpacking the majesty of nature, the breadth of human history, the wonder of science, and our desire to integrate the vast and the minute into a life that appreciates both.
Accompanying the exhibition is the 2016 Dandenong Ranges Open Studios weekend, featuring 30 local hills studios.
The program provides a unique insight into local artists and their practice, as well as their work environment.
Artists include: Hugo Racz, Eliza Phillips, Jacqueline Grace, Michele Fountain, tbC australia, Dave Thomson, Steven Firman, Lisa Hass, Jacqui Christians, Jenny Hall, Jessie Yvette Journoud-Ryan, Katherine Reynolds, Jude Craig, Juet Sculpture, Nik Tardrew, Jenny Rowe, Nadia Turner, Wendy Havard, Mark Westaway, Tracey Roberts, Ches Mills, Yanni Rigos, Leaf Studios, Kirsten Laken, Eva Glac, Emma Jennings, Shelley Krycer and Katherine Herriman.
