2016 Geelong Contemporary Art Prize

A highly anticipated and signature event, this biennial exhibition includes 33 shortlisted works by established and emerging artists from across the country, revealing the diversity and innovation that exists in Australian contemporary painting practice.

A selection of finalists include: Penelope Aitken, Robert Andrew, Xiao Bai, Kate Beynon, Hector Tjupuru Burton, Deidre But-Husaim, Shaun Gladwell, Julia Gorman, Marie Hagerty, Naomi Hobson, Ash Keating, Chris Langlois, Rosslynd Piggott, Sally Ross, Brad Rusbridge and Jurek Wybraniec.

The recipient of the $30,000 acquisitive award will be announced on Friday 9 September, 2016 with the winning work to be acquired by the Gallery, enriching its collection of contemporary Australian art.
