Sydney-based artist Holly Greenwood is known for an interest in the ubiquitous Australian pub; this exhibition of new paintings continues her exploration of ghostly figures, past and present, in often communal spaces as they connect or disconnect from one another.
Eight new large- to medium-scale paintings are presented on her preferred subject matter; with her figures like shapeshifters and her work touching on themes of humanity, rawness and vulnerability – deep colours on dark backgrounds evoke mood and a sense of belonging, pulling viewers into richly atmospheric interior worlds.
