Featuring recent University of Melbourne acquisitions and new commissions across experimental printmaking, fibre art, film, kinetic sculpture, photography and weaving, the veil is a deep exploration into cultural resilience, identity and memory featuring works that journey into the realm of the spiritual. Here, works expose otherworldly experiences that are central to our existence, though often concealed. Eternity the Butterfly – a new film commission from Gunditjmara, Djabwurrung, and Nira-Bulok Taungurung artist Hayley Millar Baker – is central to the exhibition.
