Creative Acts: Artists and their inspirations

Creative Acts explores the passion, practice and process of five Australian artists: Peter Carey, Dr Chandrabhanu OAM, Dr Deanne Gilson, Barry William Hale, and Bundit Puangthong.

Featuring new commissions, insights include into Carey’s authorship of True History of the Kelly Gang; Gilson’s Wadawurrung ancestors’ Creation story through new work Bundjil Morrgalyu Turt Barram Murrup / Bundjil and the Evening Star Spirits; Hale explaining his monumental automatic drawing spanning nine metres; and Puangthong weaving together childhood memories in a twelve-metre painting with traditional Thai temple painting and Melbourne graffiti culture influences.
