Cast in bronze, set in stone, celebrating fixed ideas of greatness; public art has long been shaped by traditions of permanence. Inviting ten artists to reconsider these public art legacies, Monument proposes new ways for art to interact with public space. Through concept, design, installation, and sculpture, the artists explore impermanence, and the speculative, pushing the boundaries of what public art can be.
Artists: Carla Adams, Emma Buswell, Jacky Cheng, Jennifer Cochrane, Erin Coates, Tarryn Gill, Amy Perejuan-Capone, Jenny Scott, Monique Tippett, and Emily Wilde.
