Joanna Poulson: Elegance And Dignity – A Celebration Of Dahlias

Adelaide-based artist Joanna Poulson is known for her tonal realism floral imagery, exploring the beauty and vibrancy of nature.

This exhibition, a visual celebration of dahlia flowers, was inspired by a 2024 visit to Épernay in northern France and photographs taken while walking through the Parc de l’Hôtel de Ville – followed by research and visits to South Australian growers to photograph diverse varieties of dahlias. Enthralled by the size and beauty of the flowers and the variations in colour and form, on show is the artist’s skill for botanical acuity.
