The Danks Street Galleries are keeping their doors ajar after hours, for the Spring Equinox Opening, September 19, 5-8pm. Head down to Danks Street for a night walk around the galleries, a perusal of their great collection of new work, and for a great meal at the Danks Street Depot, where you can enjoy some wine and a special menu put together by Jared Ingersoll, at $45 for two courses.
The Danks Street Complex boasts an impressive Spring line-up of exhibitions, with Michael Edwards at Brenda May Gallery, Anthony O’Carroll at Dominik Mersch Gallery, Heather Ellyard at Janet Clayton Gallery, and some vibrant group exhibitions, among others. Developed in 2001 by Leo Christie, 2Danks Street is home to contemporary art galleries, a fine arts dealer, jewellery studio and a café and bar. The complex also hosts regular events and stimulating panel discussions, so keep an ear out for those.
