August 2026 Editor’s pick: Hadley’s Art Prize: Exhibition of Finalists

With twenty-six finalists in 2026, the $100,000 acquisitive Hadley’s Art Prize is devoted to portrayals of the Australian landscape. Among this year’s finalists is Mia Boe; an artist with Butchulla and Burmese ancestry, Boe’s That Which Persists, 2026, depicts flannel flowers – symbols of post-fire renewal – alongside spirit figures representing the enduring connection between First Nations peoples and Country.
