Berndnaut Smilde: Builded Remnants

Dutch artist, Berndnaut Smilde, questions duality by confusing scale, temporality and the function of architectural spaces. This exhibition, the title of which is an anagram of the artist’s name, contains photography, sculpture, and installation, capturing moments of revelation that evoke hope and fragility.

In 2016 Smilde undertook a month-long residency in Western Australia, he produced a new series of Nimbus cloud images within a Romantic setting in metropolitan locations and remote landscapes of the Pilbara and South West regions.
