Biljana Jancic explores the image and its dislocation through the function of the ‘green screen’, a cinematic device that allows for the blurring of boundaries between real and virtual.
With the idea that the green screen, by virtue of its use, is both never and always seen, the artist creates a site-specific installation that demonstrates the potential infinite realities generated by these empty signifiers. Jancic also draws on the natural surrounds of the gallery as an urban, abstracted space.
