Blackwood River Arts Trail | Open studios and exhibitions

Celebrating the arts in the heart of Western Australia’s southwest, the Blackwood River Arts Trail features nearly seventy artists, including painters Miranda Free, Lori Pensini and Josh Windram, sculptor Kim Perrier, and wood-firing ceramicist Cher Shackleton, opening their studios and presenting group exhibitions in cafes, wineries, sculpture gardens, gift shops, and local galleries from 1 to 16 April 2023.

Discover local art and explore a multifaceted region. With rolling hills, forests, and the Blackwood River, the area is dotted with small villages and local food and wine experiences. A printed guide informs visitors about various art, sculpture and mural trails found in surrounding towns, as well as workshops to participate in during the event. Also, the Blackwood River Film Festival returns, presenting short films by Australian filmmakers and revealing the diverse art across the area.
