Brian Reberger: all that glitters… inspiration from Italy and beyond

Brian Reberger’s artworks are inspired by his travels and are centred around capturing frozen moments in time. Moments that are intimate observations of people going about their daily lives, or details within a landscape or cityscape that are often overlooked or merely given a cursory glance. His keen eye effortlessly captures these poignant vistas.

With this latest collection of charcoal paintings he has incorporated either gold or silver leaf in each image giving extra depth and another dimension to the light in the works. Homage is paid to the Italian masters Bernini, Cellini and the ancient tradition of the use of gold leaf on religious paintings, altarpieces and church decoration, adding his personal modern perspective.
