Elyas Alavi: We Die So That

Afghanistan-born, South Australian-based Elyas Alavi brings untold stories from his homeland of lives torn by war and conflict, the impact and the imprint on those who endure it.

‘We Die So That’, is an exhibition with a focus on identity, memory, violence, trauma and displacement documented through video, painting and artefacts. This work is the result of Alavi’s on the ground experience in 2016 when he was caught in an attack during a street protest in Kabul where 110 people lost their lives.
