Ephemera: Seaside Sculptures 2023 | 2 km, 30+ works

Ephemera: Seaside Sculptures returns to Townsville’s premier two-kilometre foreshore, The Strand, with more than thirty new artworks from Australia, Canada and the United States, now extended to a sixteen-day event from 22 July to 6 August.

This year is the twelfth iteration of the biennial exhibition and competition celebration of sun, sand and sculpture, which includes both large-scale and small outdoor artworks by six non-competitive invited artists and twenty-five competitive artists, the latter vying for the $1,000 People’s Choice Award, the $10,000 Artistic Excellence Award, and the $90,000 Ephemera Acquisitive Prize.

International participants include Dutch-born Canadian artist Alexandra Haeseker and her work titled WINGSPAN and New York-based artist Tom Fruin who has been invited to show his work Street Ministry House.
