You Are Here Too

You Are Here Too is a response to the Institute of Modern Art’s landmark 1992 exhibition, made at a time when HIV/AIDS dominated LGBTQI+ discourse in Australia. Addressing shifts between that historical moment and the expanded field of contemporary LGBTQI+ desires today, You Are Here Too presents queerness as amorphous, fluid, temporal, retreating, abstracted, and political. It features new and existing works by artists Holly Bates, Nick Breedon, Alexis Kanatsios, Gian Manik, and First Nations guerrilla collective Yangamini, with performances by Leen Reith, Crystal Love, and others.
