Lauren Brincat: When do I breathe?

Lauren Brincat works with performance, video, installation and sculpture to explore movement, music and rhythm.

Inspired by the artist’s 2024 public performance of the same title, this exhibition presents fabric sculptures, film and sound installation – making the presentation a performative structure and whole-of-space experience. In the gallery, audiences see and hear movement and song animated by a series of fabric sculptures originally used in the performance – what the artist calls graphic scores – that serve as a connective temporal thread, between performers, audiences and the broader community.
