Precious: What makes a collection? brings together over 3,000 items from more than thirty public and private collections, offering a glimpse into the cherished collections that lie within suburban homes and buildings across Brisbane and revealing intriguing stories of culture, place, family and tradition, travel and trade.
Featuring model ships, ornamental eggs, self-pouring teapots, dolls and wind-up tin toys, sports memorabilia, rare band posters tracing Brisbane’s music scene, antique beaded purses, woven textiles from First Nations communities and a selection of ‘Aboriginalia’ from artist Tony Albert’s personal collection.
