Braddon Snape has been developing his inflated steel sculptures for the past eleven years, using a unique technique he terms “Action Sculpture,” which demonstrates both his commitment to process and materiality, as well as his desire to push the boundaries of his materials.
In Objects may appear smaller in mirror, Snape plays with the surface of the mirrored stainless steel within the gallery space. Reflections, shadows, highlights, all interplay to alter the viewer’s perception of each sculptural form, creating a multitude of meanings and associations depending on the viewpoint.
