Exploring the interconnected qualities of alcohol and sugar, Crystalline brings together existing and new bodies of work by artist Elizabeth Willing.
Willing’s works span installation, sculpture and textiles – being performative and often participatory explorations of foods, both in concept and material. This exhibition responds directly to North East Victoria’s agricultural and viticultural context, its unique particularities and familial and historical developments. Alcohol and sugar; chemically connected through fermentation and production. Connoting celebration, ritual and disease. Here, we’re challenged to confront the complexity of our relationship with these substances.
