Found is a multi-platform arts event that addresses the history of the site as a prison for ‘lost and wayward’ women which operated for over 100 years. Found presents the work of over 100+ artists, performers, comedians, musicians, film screenings and speakers over nine packed days.
The events program includes a stellar line-up of wonderful women including: Karen Pickering, Clem Bastow, The Rebelles, The Perfections, Ouch My Face, Dj Miss Goldie, Dr Lucy Ward, Geraldine Hickey, Bam Bam, The Pink Tiles, The Brunswick Women’s Choir, Sex Cake Monster, and Carly Fern and many more!
Co-produced by the incredible festival partners Cherchez La Femme, Valhalla Social Cinema, Laneway Learning, Four and a Half Walls, Petty Intrigues, Melbourne Buddhist Centre and more, Found Festival is a completely not-for-profit event.
The Magdalen Laundry room is a haunting exhibition space, playing host to the work of twenty internationally and locally renowned artists, including Jennifer Burchill, Cate Consandine, Lou Hubbard, Dr Catherine Bell, Laura Delaney, Alanna Lorenzon and co.
Found positions itself as an act of positive protest – a crafted space provided for both participating artists and audiences to congregate, celebrate and speculate on their history and future.
So come along! Be challenged, delighted and over-all inspired by what Found has to offer.
