D’Lan Contemporary, in association with William Mora Galleries, presents this major survey exhibition of works by the late Paddy Bedford, a senior Gija lawman and artist of the East Kimberley region in Western Australia. Throughout his life, Bedford painted as part of mens’ ceremony and only began working on canvas with the establishment of Jirrawun Aboriginal Art in 1998. His beautifully rendered paintings, coloured with natural pigments of the earth, tell stories of his people and culture and articulate his love and knowledge for Country.
