The $15,000 Major Prize in the 2026 Omnia Art Prize & Exhibition has been awarded to Melbourne-based artist Jo Scicluna for Where the Land Remembers You #2, 2025 – a sculptural photographic work operating as a form of counter tension, where a wave runs counter to the waves of the ocean.

Jo Scicluna, Where the Land Remembers You #2, 2025, warped archival inkjet print on cotton rag paper, clear acrylic, painted Tasmanian Oak timber, 45 × 45cm / Winner of the Major Prize in the 2026 Omnia Art Prize & Exhibition / Courtesy the artist and Omnia Art Prize & Exhibition
Scicluna’s practice applies a sculptural approach to photography, drawing out the tensions of colonised lands; with the frame conceptually implicated as both the conceptual and physical armature making the work possible. Claire Bridge won the $2,500 Small Sculpture Prize for Cup II.
