Marcel Hoogstad Hay: Sublime Scales

Marcel Hoogstad Hay’s art explores human perceptions of space, time, and matter, particularly when viewed at different scales. He employs glass to distort images, patterns, and forms, revealing how physical forces affect spacetime. Sublime Scales showcases intricate patterns created using Venetian glass cane techniques, symbolising life paths and how forces disrupt them; referencing both quantum-scale phenomena and Earth’s topography. His art breaks down conventional perceptions of the physical world, inviting viewers to engage with reflective surfaces and contemplative interiors, and to ponder one’s place in the universe.
