Moorina Bonini – a descendant of the Yorta Yorta Dhulunyagen family clan of Ulupna and the Yorta Yorta, Wurundjeri, and Wiradjuri Briggs/McCrae family – and Tarni Eastwood – a Ngiyampaa and Guringai artist based on Dharug Land in Western Sydney – have been named 2026 recipients of the galang Residency.

Now in its fourth year, the two, three-month Paris residencies will see Bonini examining the Musée du quai Branly–Jacques Chirac’s collection of Australian objects and Eastwood developing a woven headpieces series that situates First Nations weaving knowledge within the Parisian millinery context.
