Near is an on going photographic portrait by Katrin Koenning of her family as they journey into the complexities and challenges of love and belonging.
Spanning several years, this work is a quiet narrative on the passing of time. The family’s story is common to the 21st century as they, as individuals, spread across four countries; torn apart and thrown together by migration.
They are architects, engineers, carpenters, social workers, animators, filmmakers and dreamers. This is a story many living in multi-cultural Australian will feel an affinity.
