Do you recognise your participation in a lifestyle economy? Nikolaus Dolman uses collage from popular printed matter to ponder, and challenge, that products hold symbolic meaning and brands play a role in determining identity. By drawing on the conventions of mass media, such as iconography and played out metaphors, he subverts the obsessions and repetition of advertising. As the self-help tribe might suggest, recognising behavioural patterns is the first step to changing them.
