Punu – Living Wood

Niningka Lewis and Billy and Lulu Cooley present walka board paintings and wood carvings alongside pieces from 20 other artists represented by Maruku Arts, Uluru, many of whom are working across the generations of the Cooley family. The show is a celebration of ‘Punu’, objects and paintings that utilise timber. Lewis is a sculptor known for her board works, which relay personal memories. Billy and Lulu produce exceptional carved sculptures, from Billy’s wanampi water serpents to Lulu’s pita and wira traditional bowls.
