Gippsland Art Gallery celebrates the marvelous storytelling characteristics and highly distinctive painting style of Australian artist Rodney Forbes with the presentation of ‘In My Life’, an exhibition of works from 1983 to 2020. With a painting practice spanning more than 40 years, Forbes has developed a unique artistic oeuvre encompassing figurative narrative painting and the use of flattened perspective. His paintings are richly hued observations of the experience of life portrayed in surreal and dreamlike contemplations.
