The highly stylized photographs by Samantha Everton lean on a filmic aesthetic to compose images that explore history, race and culture. Her subjects are often child models depicting adult-themed moments. The composition and styling is reminiscent of 19th century portraiture and captured under long exposures.
This survey exhibition with Anthea Polson Art on Queensland’s Gold Coast is running in conjunction with the Queensland Festival of Photography, organized by the Queensland Centre of Photography.
