Serisier House celebrates the collaboration between the colour field painter David Serisier and architect George Hatzisavas on a private residential project located at Watsons Bay in Sydney.
James Erskine, the director of Liverpool Street Gallery in Sydney, commissioned Serisier to produce a series of site-specific paintings for the Hatzisavas designed house. According to Serisier, the project was about how a suite of paintings could interact with the architecture and shifting light as they are not static objects.
Serisier House is published by White Buffalo, Liverpool Street Gallery’s newly established publishing arm, in a run of 900. Serisier has also produced a suite of woodblock prints in an edition of 100 to accompany the publication.
