Morton’s paintings are made with no one single motif but rather an abundance of abstract images. Produced with no set plan, the works harmoniously build lines as they spiral together en mass to create an intense and obsessive maze of linear agitation.
Morton explains that he wanted to achieve a personal language in this world. The work is an essential meditation and a record of a journey, representing both a primitive mark and a more contemporary gesture. Morton asks viewers to enjoy a moment of contemplation and to enjoy the interplay of line.
