Eisler presents here a new series of small, elegant and animated wall-mounted sculptures. Made with carefully configured sections of cow horn, miniature animal skeletons and glass beads, the works breathe new life and shape into the already sinuous form of the horn.
‘Alter’ continues Eisler’s interest in hybridisation and transformation; in ecological and evolutionary change; and her desire to create new fantastical and ethereal sculptural form. The sculptures move away from simply signifying the lost host of the horn or the idea of a ‘trophy’ by morphing ambiguously into either new hybrid creatures in their own right or forms of decorative human talismen.
