Submissions and Proposals
2025 ANAT Synapse residency program
Applications close 3pm (ACDT), Wednesday November 6, 2024
ANAT is now calling for applications to the 2025 ANAT Synapse residency program and welcomes submissions from Australian artists who work in any genre with conceptual aims that intersect and deeply engage with science and/or technology. The program brings artists and researchers together in partnerships that generate new knowledge, ideas and processes beneficial beyond both fields. A distinguishing feature of the residencies is their creative research focus, with applicants supported in collaborative experimentation rather than anticipating or producing specific outcomes. To ensure suitability between the artist and host organisation, a joint application must be submitted, led by the artist. Residencies will take place between February and October 2025 across sixteen weeks full-time (or the part-time equivalent). More information online; anat.org.au/apply.

Science Gallery Melbourne Open Call: EMERGENCE(Y)
Open call closes Sunday October 27, 2024
Science Gallery Melbourne is inviting proposals for projects to be included in our 2026 show EMERGENCE(Y). EMERGENCE(Y) springs forth in response to a rapidly changing world. As we enter a future defined by climate crisis, humans and non-humans must adapt in order to survive. Looking forward, back and all around, how might we change in response to the cataclysmic shifts occurring on this planet we call home? Will we acclimatise, or will we abandon ship? A new future blooms, and the environment will look drastically different. Cities are growing and densifying, natural landscapes are shrinking. Will we re-wild? Re-create? Re-emerge into a positive new world? Surviving and thriving is the goal, how are we going to achieve it? To find out more and apply: melbourne.sciencegallery.com/news/emergence-open-call.
